mentor meetings

Our "Mentor Meeting" component is designed to help campers reflect on the experiences of camp and to create goals for their camp experience, as well as set goals to bring back to their school and community. Mentor Meetings facilitate dialogue between campers and mentor regarding campers' development as artists, campers, leaders and peers. These meetings create quality time for conversation, sharing and communication. Mentor groups will be developed based on interest, age, experience and goals. The purpose of Mentor Meetings is to share passions, reveal frustrations, set goals and share accomplishments. Campers are most likely to form close friendships in their mentor groups which will stand the tests of time!

Our "Masterclass" component is a fantastic opportunity for older campers (ages 13 and up) to strengthen their skills and nurture their creative and artistic abilities. Campers may sign-up for a "Masterclass" in Musical Theater, Theater Dance, Acting, Film-Making, or Voice Technique. Campers who sign up for a Camp CenterStage Masterclasses should have a minimum of 2 years experience in the specific topic. Campers are not required to participate in the Masterclass program.

community outreach

In keeping with our philosophy of "Achieving excellence through the arts", Camp CenterStage will provide campers an experience which will nurture their talents and provide them with ways to use those talents for the betterment of themselves and their community. To that end, CCS will provide community outreach opportunities by hosting a field trip to a nearby camp where CCS's campers will share their talents and skills with other campers and their families.

Counselor-In-Training (CIT) Program

Part of our Counselor-In-Training Program provides CIT's an opportunity to shadow our trained camp Counselors and learn more about being a Counselor themselves, while gaining a new perspective on camp. Although CIT's are still officially "campers", they receive a discounted registration tuition, have increased responsibilities, while also enjoying all the fun of being a camper! In addition, as a CIT, you are eligible to enroll in CCS's MasterClasses, which are workshops focused on specific skills.

social hour

The Camp CenterStage staff realizes that an important aspect of any camp program is the opportunity for campers to socialize and have time to simply "hang out". Campers will have several opportunities for free time during the day, including a specific block set aside each evening before or after the evening activity. This is a time for all the campers to be together and share their experiences of the day in a setting that is loosely structured. Every CCS "social hour" will also host an opportunity for theater and improvisational games for those campers who want to participate.
