Camp Centerstage Facilities at Agawam

agawam campus

overview

Camp Agawam was founded in 1919 by Appleton A. Mason, "The Governor", and opened for its first season in its current location on beautiful Crescent Lake in 1923. The facilities have been renovated over recent years, including a new Governor Hall; adjacent woodlands were also purchased.

Governor Hall

Governor Hall Stage

Reconstructed in 2002, with its large open floor area, fireplace and stage, Governor Hall serves as our group meeting place, performance space, and provides a great indoor space for large camp gatherings or for skits on rainy days.

Mason Dining Hall

Meals are enjoyed in the spacious Mason Hall (constructed in 1994), which features a lofted ceiling, fieldstone fireplace, and a spectacular view of the campus. Attached to the dining room is a modern kitchen; beneath is an open recreation area for workshops and other activities. Professional food service staff provide balanced meals and snacks, including vegetarian dishes.

Cabins

cabins

Campers live in wooden cabins with screens, windows, and limited electricity, the perfect environment for learning, sharing and growing. Campers are divided by age, living in groups of 4 to 7, with 1-2 counselors and 1-2 CIT's per cabin.

Arts & Crafts Shack

arts and crafts shack

Our self-contained Art Shack provides a creative space for all sorts of crafts, from paper mache to frame-making to working with leather. It is here where campers have an opportunity to tie dye 1 of their 2 CCS camp t-shirts during the session!

Ropes & Challenge Course

The popular Ropes Challenge Course has both high and low elements, all supervised by trained facilitators. The low elements are spread through the wooded parts of the campus, and the high elements are located at the far reaches of the property, allowing for a truly special cabin experience.

Waterfront

waterfront

The 1800-foot lakefront, complete with a nice sandy beach, features an H-dock with shallow water area, and a deep water area with diving board and float. Separate docks are laid out along the shore for canoeing and kayaking.
